Senior Front End Developer, Melbourne

Our Melbourne office is on the hunt for a Senior Front End Developer to join their expanding Technical Team!

Deepend is currently looking for a Senior Front End Developer who specialises in building responsive and elegant web applications. You will be building modern web applications using some of the latest web technologies and frameworks.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Work closely with designers and back end developers in an agile environment.
  • Build beautiful responsive web applications.
  • Write code that is clean, well-organised, reusable, efficient, and easy to read.
  • Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering.
 
Skills & Experience:
 
  • Experience developing web applications using modern frameworks and tools including: SPA using ReactJS and Angular JS, SASS, together with necessary ES6, HTML5 and CSS3 knowledge.

  • Experience working in teams using Git.

  • Experience working with REST API.

  • Experience of developing using Agile methodologies such as sprints, user stories, retrospectives, code reviews, pair programming, etc.

  • Possess a solid understanding of UI and UX design principles.

  • Experience developing with ES6/7 Javascript and possess a solid grasp of software engineering principles and design patterns.

  • Experience working with Agile task tracking tools such as JIRA.

  • Experience with Test Driven Development and/or automated browser testing (i.e. Mocha, Selenium).

  • Knowledge of Javascript in non-browser environments such as React Native or AWS Lambda is a big advantage.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with server side development languages such as NodeJS, Ruby, Python, .NET, PHP, or Java a big plus.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must be an Australian citizen, hold Permanent Residence or an appropriate visa to work in Australia.

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
